Some people complain that it was not “dark enough” when compared to the source material. Even now, it is a movie that has much darker themes than you usually get in something from Disney. There are many moments in the movie that will just break your heart when seeing how hard this poor guy has it!Īt the time it was released, The Hunchback of Notre Dame was a very brave move for Disney. Quasimodo is such a likable character and you just want him to break free and be happy. One thing that The Hunchback of Notre Dame does very well is to make you truly care for Quasimodo.

Frollo plans to commit his genocide against the Romani people, but Quasimodo, Esmerelda, and Captain Phoebus (who originally worked for Frollo) step in to save the day. This game contains the voices and songs from the movie, and is emceed by the hand puppet, Clopin. To make matters worse, Frollo has an attraction to Esmerelda that is a pure lustful obsession, again this is something else that is much darker than you usually get in a Disney movie. Players can choose to compose a tune on the bells with the gargoyles to cheer Quasimodo up, balance the number of chickens on the tightrope walker's bar, listen and sing along with a number of French tunes, help Quasimodo carry Esmerelda down the side of Notre Dame cathedral, help Quasimodo and Phoebus find the gypsies secret hideout by unlocking the key of Esmerelda's necklace, or help the gargoyles defend the cathedral by dropping crates on the soldier's heads. The story follows that of the movie, and includes six games that can either be played during the course of the story, or separately.

Graphics: Nice, as with all Disney games.Įnjoyment: It is enjoyable the first time through, but it's more annoying than amusing after the first time.
